Tuesday 1st July 2008

What a beautiful day! THE SUN WAS SHINNING!!! It was so peaceful sitting in the garden listening to the birds singing and catching the delicate scent of the roses wafting by in the breeze. I wish I could capture this moment and put it somewhere safe. So when I am feeling down I can wrap myself in it like a security blanket. Not the most poetic way of explaining my feelings but I am no English major!!

Decided to try and make my garden look loved by ridding it of some weeds an hour later it still had the feel of a very messy room and my face was the colour of a pillar box. A long cold drink and a summer read ,much more worthy of my attention.

reunited!!

Thursday 26th June 2008

I started this blog diary a year ago and of course it didn't stand the test of time! So I am reuniting myself with it and really would like to improve. Or at least make it interesting!
I gave up work as you can see and joyfully started to look after my grandchildren. These times have been brilliant. The joy and pleasure they give is imence

This year has been very eventful and not for all the right reasons. Dad has been very ill since February it was very emotional and difficult watching someone you love struggling. His heart is very weak and then to make matters worse he suffered a severe bleeding in the brain causing a stroke down his right side. After two trips to Kings college Hospital he is starting on the road to some recovery at K&S .
I really hope that I can be a daughter he will be proud of even though I drive him mad with my fussing.

I am writing this in bed using my dads laptop [he is glad its getting some use] but my beloved now wants to go to bed. I suppose he does have to leave early in the morning[5am] and work to keep me in the comfort that I am used to . So GOODNIGHT everyone xx

Chill out day!

This not working is fun trouble is my days seem to be getting lazier instead of more productive as originally planned. I have been told to"up my game"" or its back to work for me! Then I am sent a curve ball Tim wants a lift to Sarah's then its have a cup of tea and then its play with my new stamps They are Hearts. My favourite motif. Then its lunch time and you cannot rush off after you have eaten. So Sara ,John, Tamsin [tamzin] not sure which and myself sat and chatted then off to Morrisons shopping. This can be a fun experience despite you doubting critics out there.

On my own again this evening Simon golfing with John Boneham. Another meal he will have to be careful he is the wrong age now to over indulge. Or so he says to me!!

To anyone who might stumble upon this blog and think how boring . YES it maybe but I am thanking my blessings today because I am not flooded and without water and electricity. My family and friends are around me and mostly despite a few little niggles along the way, because no one is perfect . Its a great place to be.

Wednesday. WASH DAY!

After every holiday you have a suitcase of clothes to was and the weather man says I am going to have a good day. I took him at his word and spent all day washing and ironing didn't manage to finish before the heavens opened yet again. AND who says running an efficient house is easy!!

The plus side is to watch sky movies all day while ironing. If asked what job would I like to do second time around. Movie critic would be the answer Trouble is my written English would have to greatly improve.

Off to get Simon now from a buisness meeting at the Honey moon. I hasten to add this is a Chinease restaurant and I am told this meal is an end to a very busy day! Not even a doggy bag for the faithful and trustworthy wife.

Retired late throughly exhausted!

TIM AND CAROLYNS RETURN

Spent the morning round Jody's making myself useful! Then back home to do my housework.
I knew I had to pick Tim and Carolyn up from the airport[ Gatwick] at 7.15pm . Changed cars with Simon but then totally miss read the time. Thought it had said 10 to 6 but it wasnt it was 10 to 7!! Panic stations I needed an hour to get there at this time of the evening. SET OFF AT BREAKNECK SPEED only to meet every Sunday driver I could. I know that means safe but I was soooooo Late.
Tim rang me so all I could do was to apologize and say have a coffee. I finally arrive over an hour late after driving 40 m.p.h all the way.
Still they managed to laugh about it and put it down to just being me. They expect no less!! Both of them looked really healthy and tanned. Might be bad for you these days but it certainly makes you look and feel great.
I was given a gorgeous apron it is white with BIG red polka dots on and frills to look like a Spanish dress. Perfect! Trouble is I don't want to get it dirty.
Saw the photos and it looked idiylic. I would love some Sun but its not on the horison this year.
Goodnight off to dream.

Monday 23rd July

Dads birthday today bought him a mouse for his laptop talked about a digital camera but he would rather wait . Its all a little confusing at times . I certainly know that feeling!
Took lunch round and Holly Bevan and the children joined us along with Margaret. He wasn't himself today very breathless and just not feeling good. I really wish they would hurry up and make a decision soon about his pace maker. I hate seeing him so down.
Sebastian had a chocolate muffin and Clementine made a bee line for it, She is getting a greedy munchkin!
Another day gone. Tim and Carolyn will be back tomorrow.
